English: Panorama of Škofja Loka (Slovenia) c. 1910. At the time, Škofja Loka, called Bischoflack in German, was part of the Austrian province of Carniola. Prior to 1803, Škofja Loka had been a possession of the Prince-Bishopric of Freising for about 800 years. The large palace in the background housed the bishop's governor and his administration.
