Objekta vēsture	Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde der Stadt Herten am 6. März 1978 durch den Regierungspräsidenten in Münster verliehen. Das Geweih und die Rose entstammen dem Wappen der Herren von Herten, welche bereits im 15. Jahrhundert ausgestorben sind. Das Schach entstammt dem Wappen der ehemaligen Stadt Westerholt. English: The arms were officially granted on March 6, 1978. They combined the old arms with part of the arms of Westerholt. The arms are based on the arms of the Lords of Herten. The family is first mentioned in the 13th century and around their estate a village developed. In the middle of the 19th century the village started to grow rapidly due to industrialisation.
