Objekta vēsture
Deutsch: Rudolf II. von Üsenberg legte 1249 neben dem gleichnamigen älteren Dorf die Stadt an. Seit 1298 stand sie unter der Lehenshoheit, seit 1564 und bis 1805 unter direkter Herrschaft Österreichs. Das älteste Stadtsiegel (1280) zeigt den Heiligen Petrus, den Patron der Pfarrkirche im Dorf Kenzingen, die Siegel von 1287 bis ins 18. Jahrhundert eine Stadtmauer, zwischen deren beiden Türmen der Flügel aus dem Wappen der üsenbergischen Stadtgründer schwebt. Zusätzlich erscheinen zumeist ein Stern und eine Lilie, wohl als Symbole für das Marienpatrozinium der Pfarrkirche. Das Stadtwappen, in gespaltenem Schild vorn der österreichische Bindenschild und hinten zwei abgewendete Fische, fand Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts auch Eingang in die Siegel, wobei ab 1745 der Flügel über dem Schild schwebend hinzugefügt ist. Für das Fischmotiv gibt es bisher keine Erklärung. Das Wappen erhielt seine heutige Gestalt im Jahre 1898.
