Objekta vēsture
Deutsch: Der Wellenbalken, ein heraldisches Flusssymbol, weist auf die Lage an der Traun hin und redet für den Gemeindenamen. Das Zahnrad, ein Industriesymbol, veranschaulicht die Wirtschaftsstruktur der erst 1950 auf dem Gelände der ehemaligen Heeresmunitionsanstalt im ausgedehnten St.-Georgs-Forst gegründeten Industriegemeinde. Die Gemeinden Palling, Pierling, Stein a. d. Traun und Traunwalchen hatten Gebiete an die neue Gemeinde abzutreten. Bedeutende Industriebetriebe (Haushaltsgeräte- und Leuchtenwerk, optische und mechanische Werkstätten, Textil- und Zellstofffabriken u.a.) siedelten sich in der Flüchtlingsgemeinde an. Seit den 1980er-Jahren gewann die Erdgasförderung große Bedeutung. Traunreut hat schon 1953 eine Fahne in den Farben Weiß und Grün angenommen, ohne dass sie ein Wappen führte. Das Gemeindewappen, das sich ausnahmsweise in der Tingierung an der Fahne zu orientieren hatte, folgte dann im Jahr 1955. Traunreut wurde 1960 zur Stadt erhoben.
