Deutsch: „In Gold (Gelb) auf rotem Ross der rot gerüstete hl. Martin mit nebenhergehendem roten Bettler.“ Der heilige Martin ist als Stadt- und Kirchenpatron auf Siegelabbildungen seit dem Jahre 1359 nachweisbar. Das frühere Wappen hatte einen silbernen (weißen) Schild mit einem roten Hügel im Schildfuß. Es wurde von König Wilhelm II. von Preußen am 25. Juni 1910 verliehen.
English: „Or, Saint Martin on the horse and the alongside walking beggar, all gules.“ The arms were granted on September 5, 1979 and first on June 25, 1910 by King Wilhelm II of Prussia in the red and white colours of Westfalen. The arms show St. Martin, the patron saint of the city. Sendenhorst received city rights in 1319 from Bishop Ludwig II of Münster. Late 14th century seals already showed the image of St.Martin. All later seals and images of the arms show the same figure, only the position of the beggar differs.
