As written on User:MGA73 I try to make sure that all files on lv.wikipedia have a valid license. If possible I will copy free files to Commons.
This page contain tips and info about the progress. Atm. there are 26 639 files:
- Free files (Category:All free media): 14 588
- Non-free files (Category:All non-free media): 12 008
The reason the numbers does not match the total is that some files do not have a license and some files are in both categories. For example a photo of a statue. The statue is non-free but the photographer placed the photo under a free license.

The category Kategorija:Vikipēdijas lietotāju attēli have a lot of categories by wikipedia users. To help make sure files have the right author information I may create more categories for files uploaded by the users that have not been placed in their own user category.
For example Kategorija:GreenZeb attēli have 1,021 files (per 2020-06-29) but according to this link GreenZeb have uploaded 1,045 files (per 2020-06-29). Either some files are missing in the category or it is files not created by GreenZeb (for example files from another Wikipedia or files that are public domain due to age).
I'm moving files to Kategorija:Files uploaded by user in subcategories. I put excisting categories in "my" new categories. So far I made:

- Category:Files uploaded by User:Kleivas files: 14 - wrote to user
- Category:Files uploaded by User:ScAvenger files: 970 - wrote to user
- Category:Files uploaded by User:Titāns files: 647 - wrote to user
- Category:Files uploaded by User:Lidingo11 files: 522 - no longer active
- Category:Files uploaded by User:Kikos files: 270 - wrote to user
- Category:Files uploaded by User:Laurijs files: 65 - wrote to user
- Category:Files uploaded by User:Anonīms files: 328 - no longer active ?
- Category:Files uploaded by User:Jānis U. files: 94 -
- Category:Bontrager attēli - no longer active
- Kategorija:Files uploaded by User:Algonkins files: 164 - still active
- Kategorija:Files uploaded by User:Lieeeneee files: 93 - no longer active
